Thank you for joining today’s Valentine’s Day Special! In this class, we created a beautiful paper feathered heart, a project that allows for mindfulness and creativity. Art can be a wonderful way to clear the clutter from our daily lives, and I hope you found joy in today’s creative process.

Recommended Supplies:

Several sheets of colored cardstock (any color(s))
Scissors
White craft glue or a hot glue gun (Here's my cordless hot glue gun on Amazon)
Pencil & Ruler
Backing for your heart (poster board, cardstock, cardboard, or canvas)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Draw Your Heart
Sketch a heart shape on your chosen background surface.
In class, we created a heart approximately 5” x 8”, but you can adjust the size.
Create a Feather Template
Cut out a feather shape from cardstock.
Our feathers were approximately 2 ½” x 3”, but feel free to customize.
Attach the Feathers
Glue feathers onto the heart in rows, starting about ½ inch from the edge.
Follow the natural shape of the heart for alignment. (Refer to attached pictures for guidance.)
Fill in the Heart
Continue layering feathers in rows until the entire heart is covered.
Optionally, create smaller feathers as you move toward the center for added detail.
